1. Confirmation
 
The person making the reservation and the party leader must be at least 18 years of age and must be authorised to make the booking on the basis of these booking conditions and general information contained in our literature or on our website. 
 
Reservations are confirmed on receipt of a deposit and the final balance when due.
 
The deposit is charged at the rate of the first nights bed and continental breakfast.
 
The deposit should be received by Paradox Ltd no later than the deposit deadline date being 14 days following the date of reply to you or for groups by the deposit deadline date advised to you on the booking form or by e-mail. Reservations will be cancelled if the deposit is not received by this date.
 
Bookings made less than 14 days prior to arrival will require the total balance to be paid before the reservation is confirmed.
 
Please check the confirmation invoice upon receipt and notify us within 10 days if any of the details appear to be incomplete or incorrect as it may not be possible to make any changes later.  We will do our best to rectify any mistake if notified within the time limit.
 
The booker or party leader will be responsible for making all payments due to Paradox Ltd.
 
Favourable rates are available to youth or educational groups with 20 or more people for accommodation and activities with its outsourced provider, booked through Paradox Ltd. Groups using other outsourced providers directly will be charged full prices.
 
2. Final Payment
Payment must be received by us 14 days prior to arrival without exception. If payment is not received 14 days prior to arrival we are entitled to assume that you wish to cancel your booking, the accommodation will be returned into stock and the deposit will be retained.
 
3. Cancellation
We do not provide holiday insurance cover but we strongly recommend that you take out your own holiday insurance cover.
 
Cancellation by you of some of or all of the reserved nights before the advised deposit deadline date will incur no charge.
 
Cancellation of the reservation 14 days or more prior to arrival will result in the deposit being retained.
 
Cancellation of all of or some of the reserved nights of the reservation, 14 days or less prior to arrival including the arrival day will result in the price of the full stay being retained. 
 
4. Cancellation of JAAC accommodation by Paradox Ltd
Your reservation with Paradox Ltd at the JAAC is confirmed upon receipt of your deposit and the final balance when due.
 
If, due to unforeseen circumstances, we have to cancel or change your accommodation requirements, we will endeavour to relocate you to alternative accommodation of a similar or better grade, or we will refund you in full.
 
 
5. On your arrival
All arrivals at the JAAC, including campers, must report to reception first.
 
Check-in is from 2 pm.
 
Please advise us of the final number of people staying at the JAAC and notify us if anybody leaves earlier or joins the reservation later.
 
You will be asked to complete a registration form with details of every individual over the age of 16 years.
 
Please make yourself aware of the fire safety procedures and exits in the hostel.
 
We will do our best to provide a clean, safe and secure accommodation throughout your stay at the JAAC.
 
6. On your departure
Please settle any outstanding balance the night before your departure.
 
Check out is anytime up until 10.00am.
 
For a late check out, please see reception.
 
Keys should be deposited in the box at reception or in the early departure box situated in the porch.
 
7. Security
The exterior doors are locked at 8pm each evening between March to November or 4pm between December to February.  Access to the building via the main door is by door code.  There is a caretaker on the premises overnight. A duty manager’s overnight mobile phone number can be found in the reception for use in emergencies.
 
There is a safe available at reception for any valuables or documents.
 
We do not accept liability for loss of personal possessions.
 
There is a £25.00 fee for each lost key.
 
8. Guest Responsibilities and Consideration
The person making the reservation is responsible for the behaviour of all of the people in the reservation whilst within the premises/grounds of the JAAC.
 
Verbal or physical abuse towards any JAAC staff member will not be tolerated and you will be asked to leave the property immediately; the Police will be called if necessary.
 
Please advise the reception of a failure of any equipment or appliances.
 
Please advise the reception of any damages or biological hazards.
 
Please be aware that smoking is not permitted in the building and that dogs are not allowed in the dining room (except for working Guide Dogs) or on the beds or on any of the bedding.
 
Additional charges may be incurred if excessive cleaning, replacement or repair is required for example to remove the smell of smoking in the room, deliberate damage to the property or its contents, dog fowling, missing towels, shower mats or any other items etc.
 
Dogs must not be washed in the shower rooms. A tap is available at the top of the middle back field.
 
All guests are required to be considerate to other residents of the hostel with regard to noise and disruption after 10.00pm. 
 
Visitors of hostel guests are allowed on the premises with permission from reception and only until 10.00pm.
 
Improper use of the fire alarm system will incur a charge of £250.00 to cover the cost of a call out fee.
 
Only alcohol purchased in the Restaurant can be consumed in the Restaurant during service hours.
 
Your own alcohol can be responsibly consumed by people aged 18 or over in the hostel at all times with the exception of the Restaurant opening hours as stated above.
 
9. The Grounds
The grounds are available for guests’ use for walking, sitting and playing own games, except when during Paradox Ltd activity sessions or when the areas are privately booked, where the areas will be closed.
 
Paradox Ltd will not be responsible for any accident or loss of possessions from the grounds where guests/visitors are using them. 
 
Any activity apparatus in the grounds at the JAAC is not to be used without prior arrangement with Paradox Ltd and with a member of Paradox Ltd staff in attendance.
 
Paradox Ltd will not accept any liability for accident, damage to clothing or loss of personal possessions for any unauthorised use of the activity apparatus.
 
10. Bikes and Bike Storage
There is bike storage in the courtyard, which can be accessed from the rear of the building. Our reception staff can show you on your arrival.
 
Paradox Ltd does not accept liability for the loss or damage to any bike while on the JAAC premises.
 
11. Vehicles and Parking
Car parking is only permitted in the designated car parking areas for hostel guests and visitors.
 
For campers, vehicles are permitted to drive around to the camping field to unpack on arrival and pack on departure but otherwise vehicles must be parked on the middle field which is situated next to the camping field.
 
There is a speed limit of 5mph to drive to the back on the building to access the camping field. Adults, children and animals maybe crossing the driveway!
 
12. Data Protection
Paradox Ltd is registered within the Jersey Data Protection legislation. We will not sell, divulge your personal details or e-mail address to any third parties without your prior permission.
