Terms & Conditions

These Terms & Conditions apply to individual accommodation and camping bookings made with Paradox Ltd, trading as Jersey Accommodation & Activity Centre (JAAC) and Bay View Camping.

1. Booking & Payment

A booking is not confirmed until the required payment or deposit has been received.

For individual hostel and camping bookings of 1–3 nights, payment is required in full at the time of booking.

For bookings of 4 nights or more, a 25% non-refundable deposit is required to confirm the booking. The remaining balance is payable no later than 14 days before arrival.

Bookings made within 14 days of arrival must be paid in full at the time of booking.

2. Cancellation

Deposits are non-refundable.

Where a booking is cancelled more than 14 days before arrival, any amount paid above the non-refundable deposit will be refunded.

Cancellations made within 14 days of arrival are non-refundable and the full cost of the booking remains payable.

Failure to arrive without cancelling the booking will be treated as a no-show and no refund will be given.

We strongly recommend that guests have suitable travel insurance to cover cancellation, travel disruption, illness and other circumstances which may prevent them from travelling.

3. Changes to Bookings

Please contact us as soon as possible if you need to make a change to your booking. Changes are subject to availability and may result in a change to the price.

Reducing the length of a stay or the number of guests may be treated as a partial cancellation and the normal cancellation terms will apply.

4. Arrival & Departure

Hostel check-in is from 3:00pm.

Camping check-in is from 12:00pm to 8:00pm.

Guests arriving outside the normal check-in times should contact us in advance to make arrangements.

All guests must report to reception on arrival.

Hostel guests should check out by 10:00am. Camping pitches should be vacated by 11:30am, unless otherwise agreed.

5. Breakfast & Catering

Breakfast is included where the accommodation has been booked on a Bed & Breakfast basis.

Breakfast is normally served between 8:00am and 9:00am.

Campers may book breakfast separately, subject to availability.

Please tell us about any allergies or dietary requirements in advance. While we will make reasonable efforts to accommodate dietary requirements, we cannot guarantee an allergen-free environment.

6. Guest Responsibilities

Guests are expected to behave responsibly and to respect other guests, staff, neighbouring properties and JAAC facilities.

Guests must follow reasonable instructions given by JAAC staff and comply with all safety procedures.

Quiet hours are between 10:00pm and 7:00am.

JAAC reserves the right to ask guests to leave in cases of serious or persistent misconduct. No refund will be given where a guest is required to leave because of their behaviour.

7. Damage, Loss & Additional Cleaning

Guests are responsible for damage, loss or excessive cleaning resulting from their actions during their stay.

JAAC reserves the right to charge the reasonable cost of repairing or replacing damaged or lost property and for additional cleaning where required.

Any damage or breakages should be reported to a member of staff as soon as possible.

8. Smoking & Vaping

Smoking and vaping are not permitted inside any accommodation or other JAAC buildings.

Additional cleaning, repair or other costs resulting from smoking or vaping indoors may be charged to the guest responsible.

9. Camping

Campers must use the pitch allocated to them and keep their pitch and surrounding area tidy.

Barbecues are permitted but must be raised clear of the grass and used on a suitable heat-resistant surface. Barbecues must not be placed on picnic tables or other JAAC furniture.

Open fires are not permitted.

Dogs are welcome on the campsite but must be kept under appropriate control. Owners are responsible for cleaning up after their dogs.

Dogs are not permitted inside hostel accommodation or glamping tents.

10. Campervans & Motorhomes

We can accommodate small campervans and motorhomes subject to availability and suitability for the site.

Guests travelling in larger vehicles should contact us before booking to confirm that we can accommodate the vehicle safely.

11. Personal Belongings

Guests are responsible for their own belongings during their stay. JAAC cannot accept responsibility for loss, theft or damage to personal belongings except where liability cannot legally be excluded.

12. Safety & Use of Facilities

Facilities and equipment must be used responsibly and for their intended purpose.

Children remain the responsibility of their parent, guardian or supervising adult while on the premises.

Guests must not interfere with fire alarms, fire extinguishers or other safety equipment.

13. Circumstances Beyond Our Control

JAAC cannot accept responsibility for travel disruption, ferry or flight cancellations, adverse weather or other circumstances outside our reasonable control which prevent or delay a guest's arrival.

Our normal cancellation terms will continue to apply in these circumstances. We strongly recommend appropriate travel insurance and can provide reasonable supporting documentation for an insurance claim where required.

14. Prices & GST

Prices are subject to 5% Jersey Goods and Services Tax (GST) unless expressly stated otherwise.

15. Data Protection

Personal information supplied in connection with a booking will be handled in accordance with applicable Jersey data protection legislation.

16. Governing Law

These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of Jersey.
